Source The Sun – Love Island star Zara Holland will appear in court in Barbados on Wednesday charged with breaching COVID-19 laws.
The former Miss Great Britain, 25, could be fined up to £18,000 and jailed for a year.
She and boyfriend Elliott Love, 30, were arrested by police at the airport as they tried to flee after he tested positive.
And it has now emerged the island has had a surge of 200 new cases of the virus in the past two days, with 33 linked to the airport from which the couple tried to leave.
She will be in court a week after a fellow tourist was jailed for six months for a similar breach.
Last night, Love remained at the island’s quarantine centre. More than 800 people, mainly islanders, have signed a petition demanding the pair be thrown in jail.
Zara, from North Ferriby, East Yorkshire, has been visiting the Caribbean island for many years and was yesterday confined to her hotel room.
She told newspaper Barbados TODAY: “I would never do anything to jeopardise an entire nation that I have nothing but love and respect for.”

There is definitely a price to pay for opening borders too soon. This is not a good start to a new year. Barbados for the safety of the country….needs to shut its borders….really…all in the name of tourism. Big joke!
Nobody has mentioned why she lost her Miss GB title.
She is no star in the uk , Barbados should throw the book at her and her boyfriend they knew what they were doing and were selfish and put peoples life’s in jeopardy not only on the beautiful island but if they had got on the plane , I’m sure her apology was not sincere and they need to be made an example of for they rule breaking actions and disrespecting Barbados and it’s beautiful people
Jail is no help to us take the foreign currency instead
I’m still working on the dumb blond joke
“I would neher do any ting to jeopardise an island that I love so much” ur words Ms. But u jeopardise the people of that island, not the island, I hope the full weight of the law come down on u, not with imprisonment, coz the tax payers have to feed u if u go there, but with the heaviest fine, and determine persona non grata.
I think if it is found that they have infected anyone, they should
Be made to pay the lost wages . If they are responsible for the island spike then they need to face the consequences .
But even if they are not shown to have infected anyone , they still need to be fined as they put lives at risk because of their own selfishness .
It saddens me the amount of people that have no regard or respect for other peoples countries and once they get caught they come out with lame excuses. If Zara Holland had nothing but respect for the islanders she would have followed the quarantine rules. That’s how you show respect Zara. Shame on you.
Maximum fine and maximum time in prison please.
These people think they are different and better than ordinary people who obey the laws and regulations. Only by making an example of her and her boyfriend will it finally dawn on them that we all need to stick to the same rules.
” I would never do anything to jeopardize an entire nation” Well sweet heart you have, when you disobeyed the rules. Stop with the love and respect boloney. When you get a little older maybe you might know what’s the meaning of those words..Because, if the story posted of you is correct you have jeopardized if not the whole island, some parts of it with your actions.
Staying in your hotel room with your boyfriend would have shown some love and respect for the CITIZENS of the island you love so much.
Lock her up it’s about time. No excuse
