As a result of the effects of Hurricane Elsa in July, Flow provided credit to 2,357 mobile customers totalling over $300,000, while the company also provided credit to 5,746 customers with fixed services (broadband, landline, and television) totalling over $65,000. Flow has also been providing debt relief to eligible customers who are encountering difficulties in paying their monthly bill because of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. “We know there are thousands of people relying on our services every day, so this is not about dollars and cents. This is about keeping people connected when they need it most,” said Desron Bynoe, Country Manager, Flow Barbados. Eligible customers are identified based on tenure, request for debut relief and status of payment plan. “While this is not our first debt relief or customer give-back initiative, we are especially mindful with the impact of COVID-19 that our customers need us to be their ally now more than ever.” You Might Be Interested In Crystal Beckles-Holder, 2nd runner up in regional competition GUYANA: Body of child found after gold mine collapses Barbadians asked to help with return tickets for Haitians As part of celebrations for Customer Experience Month, the company will also waive over $56,000 in debt for more than 100 customers. “It works out to be approximately $475 per customer and our credit and collections team has been working extremely hard behind the scenes to provide this facility at this time, especially given the need for our services to facilitate work-from-home and school-from-home,” added Bynoe. “We understand our responsibility to the country, especially against the backdrop of COVID-19 and the significant adverse weather scenarios that we’ve experienced recently, so we are doing everything we can to ensure that as many people as possible continue to have access to reliable connectivity.” In the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Elsa, Flow provided all pre-paid mobile customers with 1GB free data and 100 free voice minutes, while residential post-paid mobile customers received 3GB additional data.
