The distraught horse owner said he was informed by a worker around 7 a.m. on Wednesday that nine-year-old retired international race horse Kajaroojack and four-year-old pony Cupcakes were stolen from the paddock. He said he believed the horses were stolen between Tuesday night and the wee hours of Wednesday morning. He said at least one bag of feed is now unaccounted for but admitted that the lock on the container where the feed is stored was broken. “I am appealing to those who know of the whereabouts of these horses to contact the nearest police station or even contact me on 231-1605 so that we can get these horses back into care as soon as possible. We know these youngsters torment these horses and ride them until some of them even drop down and die with this kind of vigorous riding. They have no care or consideration for the animals. So, if I can get the public’s help, I would really appreciate it,” he said. Croney said he reported to the District “A” Police Station that he had received a message that the horses were seen in the area of the Westbury Cemetery headed to Goodland but he was yet to get a favourable response. “I decided that I would go down there and I went and asked some questions and some people were telling me they saw some youngsters this morning with these horses. I showed them a picture of the horses and they told me that they saw the horses between the Goodland area and the St Leonards area and I think as far as the Globe area (Roebuck Street),” he said.
