Share FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 899 Economist and trade unionist Asokore Hussien Rahmon Beckles was hauled before the law court on Monday in connection with two assault charges. The No. 20 Colleton Gardens, St Peter resident was granted $5 000 bail with one surety when he appeared before Magistrate Manila Renee. He is accused of unlawfully assaulting Richard Woodroffe occasioning him actual bodily harm on January 28, 2023. It is further alleged that on the same day, he did serious bodily harm to Lynton Fraser with intent to maim, disfigure or disable him or to do some serious bodily harm to him. Beckles, who is represented by attorney-at-law Arthur Holder, pleaded not guilty to the charges and there were no objections to bail from Sergeant Kenmore Phillips. He will make his next appearance before the No. 2 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on October 5.
