The 22-year-old, who was diagnosed with bone cancer, passed away today. In a statement, the Barbados Football Association (BFA) expressed its condolences at Howell’s passing. “The Barbados Football Association is devastated to have learnt of the passing of former outstanding junior national footballer Dishon Howell at the age of 22. The thoughts of everyone at BFA are with Dishon’s family, friends, team-mates and everyone connected with the clubs, and teams he represented,” the release stated. “Dishon will always be remembered for scoring twice on his debut for Barbados in a comeback victory over Bermuda in 2017. May he rest in peace. We offer our deepest condolences,” it further added.In 2016, Howell was the lone Barbadian selected to be a part of a 12-member team from the Caribbean to undergo training at the English Premier League club under the Digicel Kickstart programme.
