Apart from performing several of his chart-topping hits over the years, RPB will be receiving a special tribute. According to the Love & Paradise team, organisers of the event, the decision to honour the great man from the east was a no-brainer and long overdue. “Dr Wiltshire has established himself and is perhaps one of the greatest lyricists in Barbados. Over the years, he has provided entertainment at the highest level, which we see persons of all generations enjoying. Acknowledging his greatness is a small token of what we can do for this true son of the soil,” the team said. RPB has won the Calypso Monarch ten times and to this day, he holds the record for most titles. His biggest hit, Ragga Ragga has been recorded in seven different languages. The local star-studded lineup includes the likes of RPB, Mighty Gabby, Mikey, Lil Rick, HypaSounds and Mr Dale. Another highlight of the much talked about event will be the host, Hollywood actor Taye Diggs, known for his role in The Best Man and more recently the TV series All American. Joining him in hosting will be the comedic duo of Rum and Koke.
