Hot ICE as promoters expand and deliver great experience

It was the hottest ICE ever – literally and figuratively.

Heat from the daytime sun combined with lots of heat for the annual Boxing Day fete, ICE All-White Breakfast Inclusive Party held at L’Belle Lawns, Lower Estate.

It was exactly as the promoters advertised: “A fully loaded entertainment package and culinary experience.” Great music, great food and great people.

The entire party was thrown into a frenzied state as different genres of music blasted from the speakers. The huge crowd was intent on making merry at the event the day after Christmas.

Handheld fans were a hit with the ladies and although those in the packed cabanas were not directly in the sun, they did not escape the heat. They too were making merry, sweating and feting when they were spotted leaving the cabanas to join the crowd in the excitement.

People of every age group, all walks of life, including tourists and Bajan Yankees were onlocation and there were smiles on everyone’s faces.

Kaiso king I-Web was present along with major event promoters such as Soca on the Hill, Envy, Rise, Colourz Entertainment, Impulse Jouvert, Summafest, Zulu International and BLU for what has been, to date, the biggest fete of its kind for the Yuletide season.

It was also a morning of extras for the 1 000-plus people who dressed in white and assembled at the location. It was a larger and better-executed event than last year.

The event was scheduled to end at noon but finished around 1:30 p.m., giving the partygoers some extra time to enjoy themselves.

The line-up of live entertainment had two bonus acts not previously advertised. This year’s Tune of the Crop winner Quan the Artiste and Grateful Co joined the cast of Mole, Marzville and Hypasounds to serve up a slew of Crop Over favourites, much to the satisfaction of the party goers.

The live entertainment was accompanied by deejays Ramon G, Thorny, Jerry Dan, Hutchy & Sizz, Sheldon Papp & Chasey, Niqo Vibes & Gunner and DJ Ras.

But it was hosts Jordan English and DJ Diamond who did a commendable job in keeping the crowd active and hyping up the atmosphere.

When Spice & Company’s hit song played, Jordan English led the fete in a conga line and his co-host was good at engaging the crowdwith her wit.

The food was also plenty. Chef Creig, Chef Byer and their teams, along with Street Pasta, Creamery Ice Cream, Wibisco, Zephirins Bakery and Little Caesars made sure that patrons received a solid and varied breakfast which gave them the sustenance needed to party for over seven hours. (IMC)
