He made the disclosure as he led off debate on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Amendment) Bill, 2024, in the Senate this morning. “Eighty-four persons applied for the post of CEO of the QEH . . . . Two Barbadians applied for that post – two out of the 84 – and both of them were deemed not suitably qualified . . . did not have the experience. “The committee of the board went through the process – 84 go to 12. Then, I believe they . . . had selected six to be interviewed, but one person dropped out, and they interviewed five and then [came] to a selection. We have made the selection, so that process is on track,” Dr Walcott revealed.
