As a result, the Drainage Division of the Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) has opened the sluice gate to reduce these levels. The gate will remain open until approximately 8 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. Although the beach at Worthing has not been closed, the Drainage Division is assuring the public that the discolouration seen is as a result of leaves, mud and debris and not as a result of sewage.
