Two of the vessels- sister ships MSC Magnifica and Explora II- made their inaugural visit to Barbados. Minister of Tourism Ian Gooding Edghill, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Barbados Port Inc David Jean-Marie and other officials welcomed the captains of both vessels and their crew to the island during an official tour. The Explora has a capacity of 922 passengers and is a luxury cruise ship while the MSC Magnifica offers a relaxing family oriented cruising experience with a capacity of 3 223 passengers. Gooding-Edghill said he looked forward to a long and beneficial partnership between the sister vessels and Barbados and thanked the captains and crew for their hospitality.
