Station Officer at the Bridgetown Fire Station Roger Bourne told reporters, officers from the Port Fire Station and the Bridgetown Fire Station quickly responded to the blaze reported at 8:28 a.m. “One [house] was destroyed, the wooden house. A wall house has extensive damage. The fire is currently under control at this time and we are doing mopping up actions.” Searles told reporters he lost all his possessions. “I lose everything. I ain’t save anything but my clothes, what you see me have on here. If anybody could do anything to help I would appreciate it,” he said. St Michael North West MP Neil Rowe was on the scene and he assured he would seek help for his affected constituent. “I have already called the Welfare Department and the Ministry of People Empowerment to put the necessary things in place to assist Mr Searles in every way possible.
