QEH receives two new ambulances

The Emergency Ambulance Service has expanded its fleet to 12 vehicles, thanks to a generous donation from the Maria Holder Memorial Trust valued at over $200,000
The two new ambulances were officially handed over during a ceremony held on Thursday at the service’s headquarters in Wildey.
Chief Executive Officer of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), Neil Clarke, expressed gratitude for the donation, emphasizing its potential to enhance the service’s efficiency in responding to emergencies.
“This will significantly improve our ability to provide timely and effective care to the people of Barbados,” Clarke said during the ceremony.
Christopher Holder, Co-founder and Chairman of the Maria Holder Memorial Trust, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to supporting the healthcare sector.
“We made a promise over two years ago to assist the health sector in meaningful ways, and today we deliver on that pledge. These gifts will bring so much purpose to the people of Barbados,” Holder remarked.
The donation, which reinforced the trust’s long-standing partnership with the QEH, is further expected to strengthen the island’s emergency response capabilities.( SM)
