Morning rainfall has already resulted in accumulations of up to one inch in some isolated areas. According to the Barbados Meteorological Service (BMS), a shear line affecting the island triggered light to heavy rainfall, along with intermittent thunderstorms, this morning. “Throughout the late morning into afternoon, the shear line can bring a further one to two inches of rainfall across the island,” the BMS stated. As a result, a flash flood watch is in effect until 6 p.m. today. The alert level may be elevated to red or terminated earlier if conditions improve, the BMS said.
