(LE) Share FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 80 The excitement of Ham Season 2025 came full circle on Wednesday as Farmer’s Choice presented prizes to the winners of its nationwide campaign during a ceremony at Massy Warrens. Marketing coordinator for the Farmer’s Choice brand, Kitisheanna Williams, said the presentation marked the official close of what she described as an all-out effort to engage Barbadians throughout the season. “We’re here today at Massy Stores to present the prizes to our Ham Season 2025 winners. We would have given away an electric knife set, an air fryer, and the grand prize of a fridge and a stove, all compliments Farmer’s Choice,” she said. Williams said the campaign went far beyond a traditional promotion, as the brand made a visible push across communities and media platforms. “Farmer’s Choice was truly doing the most for ham season,” she said. “We were on the side of the highway giving away ham cutters, we did our bus tour all over St Michael with the We Gatherin’ Committee, we did shop stops all over the island [and] we had ham cutter eating competitions. We were truly doing the most from radio, to TV, to social media,” Williams said. She noted that the response from the public exceeded expectations. Among those celebrating at Massy Warrens was third-place winner Rickey Springer, who took home an electric knife set after making multiple purchases during the season. “I bought some ham, quite a few hams, and some other stuff,” he said. “Quite a bit of money, so first time for everything.” mentioning that this was his first time participating and he was “very excited” to enter again. Second-place winner Janelle Morris, who won an air fryer, said her entry started with a Christmas purchase. “I would have purchased a leg ham for Christmas along with the products that make the glaze,” she said. “I love Farmer’s Choice, best ham in the world, and I’m very excited to have won this prize,” Morris said. The biggest surprise of the day came for grand prize winner Nicolette McDowall, who walked away with a fridge and a stove after entering multiple times. “I won the grand prize, which was a fridge and a stove, and it just started off by me buying three different hams,” she said. “I bought two picnic hams and a Black Forest ham…” She said the moment she got the call was almost unreal. “The funny thing was the day before I got the call, I was telling myself nobody called me yet because I was determined to win. “Then the next day I got a call, and I was like, what? So yes, I am excited. I will enter again. I love Farmer’s Choice, best combination ever,” McDowall said. Brand Manager for Farmer’s Choice at Acado Barbados, Nicole Ferguson, echoed those sentiments, describing the season as a collective success made possible by both consumers and staff. “We had an amazing ham season thanks to the entire public,” she said. “I would like to take the time to thank everybody in Barbados for supporting Farmer’s Choice, choosing Farmer’s Choice, and having this ham on their dish for the holidays.” She also highlighted the internal effort behind the scenes. “I would also like to thank the hardworking teams from our van sales team, our warehouse staff, our merchandisers, all of our growth representatives, and customer service reps for putting in all the hard work and being dedicated to ensuring that everyone in Barbados had a great Christmas season,” Ferguson said. Thank you for choosing Farmer’s Choice once again, and we will continue to do the most this year.” Lauryn Escamilla You may also like Two killed in Cambridge shooting; Police issue national appeal 15/03/2026 Middle management plays critical role in police service, says ACP 15/03/2026 Ministers pledge support to Kingdom Academy youth programme 15/03/2026
