During the briefing, the Registrar revealed that one shuttle is currently being โactively worked onโ due to a clutch issue and should return to service by Tuesday.. โFurthermore, the Registrar noted that two other shuttles were referred to the licensing authority for inspection. While they passed as of Monday afternoon, administrative hurdles remain.ย The Registrar stated that โcertificates are to be collected on the 24th of March to bring to the insurance company,โ and if the shuttles are not back Tuesday, they โshould be back on the road by Wednesday morning.โ โThe meeting also highlighted a significant rift in how the administration views student transport. The Guild leadership, known as the Council, reportedly pushed back against the administrationโs stance on the necessity of the fleet.ย A spokesperson for the Guild noted that โthe Council would have communicated to the Registrar that we did not agree with the notion that the shuttle was supplementaryโ. An update has been promised to the student leadership by Wednesday afternoon, and the Council has made its intentions clear should that deadline be missed. ย โThe Guild of Students remains committed to actively resolving the matter,โ the Council stated, adding that โif the promised deadline for communication is not met, the Council will not hesitate to take further actionโ.
