CourtLocal News Christ Church duo fined, ordered to compensate for car theft by Jenique Belgrave 13/04/2026 written by Jenique Belgrave Updated by Benson Joseph 13/04/2026 1 min read A+A- Reset FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 83 Two Christ Church men who admitted stealing a motor car almost eight years ago have been ordered by the High Court to pay both compensation and fines. ย Julius Stewart of Charnocks and Sean Matthias of Silver Hill admitted in the No. 3A Supreme Court to stealing a $30 000 car belonging to Neville Nurse between November 21 and 22, 2018. ย Judge Anthony Blackman ordered Stewart to pay $8 000 in two weeks, failing which he will spend 1 051 days in prison. Failure to pay either will result in 812 days at Dodds Prison. ย The sentences are to run concurrently if the monies are not paid. ย The case was prosecuted by Principal State Counsel Rudolph Burnett, while Stewart was represented by Senior Counsel Angella Mitchell-Gittens, and Matthiasโ attorney was Rasheed Belgrave.
