Barbados U19s extend winning streak

Barbados continued their dominant run in the Cricket West Indies Regional Under-19 Championship on Monday, securing a fifth straight victory with a seven-wicket victory over Jamaica.

Batting first in the 50 over encounter, Jamaica were dismissed for just 107, off 27 overs and five balls, at the Bethesda Ground in Antigua.

Geovanni Grey topscored with 27, while for Barbados, Zarell Harding was the most successful bowler, after taking four wickets for 24 runs, while Justin Parris grabbed three for 17.

In reply, Barbados sealed their victory at 110 for three in the 15th over, as Jordan Graham top scored with 29, while skipper Gadson Bowens added 21 and Kemar Dixon 19.

Barbados opened their campaign on July 11 with a 114 run win over the Windward Islands, before defeating the Leeward Islands by 258 runs on July 13. This was followed by a 63 run third round victory over Guyana on July 15 and six wicket defeat of Trinidad and Tobago on July 18.

In today’s other game, Windward Islands recorded a massive 219 run victory over Guyana.

Scores: Windward Islands 315 for nine, Guyana 96 all out.
