In order to make the process easier for some, the Foundation is funding the cost of artwork digitisation for 40 artists. The new website, which is yet to be launched, will be called the Caribbean Art Express. The project is created in partnership with Artists Alliance and The Barbados Arts Council who are in the process of collecting pieces from various artists across the region in order to give practitioners an alternative avenue of exposure when the site is officially launched. In order to be featured on the website, the artistsโ work must be digitised through hi-res photography. Being fully aware of the challenges of the recent COVID-19 pandemic which has impacted the creative community, the NCF is committed to helping the islandโs artists through the digitisation process. The intention is for Caribbean Art Express to become a designated platform for Caribbean artists and photographers to showcase their diverse range of work. Local artists or photographers interested in creating a new revenue stream for their work, and who would like to be featured on the website, but need to have their work digitised can contact Business Development Officer, Ramona Grandison at ramona-grandison@ncf.bb or 417-6646.
