Nurses press for better working conditions

Several nurses who operate at the Maurice Byer Polyclinic in St Peter are engaged in a work stoppage protesting against poor working conditions and hazard pay.

When a Barbados TODAY team visited the clinic about 12 nurses and nursing students were sitting on a bench conversing with one another. They said the 48-year-old building was infested with mould and it was causing a number of workers to go on sick leave repeatedly.

They said they discussed their concerns with management at meeting on Wednesday, but nothing was resolved. (SZB)
