Jwayne Orlando Curtis James, of Maxwell Hill, is accused of assaulting Israel Howard on January 16. The couple appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Deidre McKenna in the Oistins Magistratesโ Court on Monday. The court heard that the two had been together for six years and shared two young children before separating due to frequent arguments. Howard reported the incident to the police, and James later surrendered himself at a police station last Friday. He denied beating Howard during his interview with officers. James was later charged with occasioning actual bodily harm. He was granted bail and will reappear in court on March 30.
