Man pleads guilty to murder

Oshea Kai Greenidge of Ruby, St Philip, has pleaded guilty to murder.

He was among those on trial for Antonio Layne’s death on June 4, 2020.

When proceedings resumed in the No. 3 Supreme Court on Monday before a 12-member jury, Greenidge, represented by Senior Counsel Angella Mitchell-Gittens, requested to be re-arraigned and entered a guilty plea.

Acting Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Krystal Delaney, who is leading the State’s case along with acting Senior State Counsel Anastacia McMeo-Boyce accepted the plea.

The trial of the remaining accused, Shawn Orlando Crookendale of Skeetes Road, St Michael, and the deceased’s brother, Jason Ricardo Layne of Leadvale, Christ Church — who have pleaded not guilty — continues on Tuesday.

Layne is represented by attorneys Lesley Cargill-Straker and Kristin Vanderpool, while Crookendale is defended by attorneys Sade Harris and Elan Greenidge.

A fourth man, Ade Omotunde Blackman of River Land, St Philip, previously entered a guilty plea.

Justice Carlisle Greaves presides.
