Police spokesman Sergeant Michael Blackman reported the following: Lawmen responded to reports of gunshots a Greenfield, St Michael about 12:35a.m. On arrival Maxine Vaughn of the same address said she was sleeping when she felt a burning on her hand. Looking up she saw a hole in the roof. Police responded to an accident about 4:50a.m. along Varley Hill Road, St Peter, near the horse stables, where motorcar L2468 sustained extensive damage. The driver 31-year-old Gordon John, of Allendale, St Lucy complained of back injuries. No one was at the scene. Investigations are continuing into these incidents. Meantime on Old Year’s Night, around 10:55 p.m., police responded to a report of gunshots at Bournes Land, St Christopher, Christ Church.
