The teenager, of River Bay, St Lucy, made his first appearance in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant, who asked him if he had a lawyer to which he replied “no”. The charge against Roach, is that last December 18, he murdered-68-year-old Tyrone Austin of Free Hill Black Rock, St Michael. He was not required to plead to the indictable charge and was remanded until March 6. Roach is set to re-appear in the Holetown Magistrates’ Court, St James before Magistrate Wanda Blair on February, 28 on two other murder charges. He is charged with murdering his mother, Joann Roach, 38, of River Bay, St Lucy, whose partially decomposed body was found in a watercourse on Errol Barrow Day, January 21. The other charge is that he murdered Dr Sarah Sutrina, 68, a lecturer in microbiology at the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies also on January 21.
