Leader of the employee led initiative, ECI’s Senior Accountant Dawn Leacock explained that during the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados (ICAB) Annual Week of Activities, accountants are encouraged to give back in the form of time, talent or treasure. She said, “After some brainstorming, we agreed that we wanted to help the Precious Touch Foundation to bring joy to some brave children who are fighting the biggest fight of their lives.” This non-profit foundation is dedicated to granting the wishes of children between the ages of two and 16 who are diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions or are terminally ill. During the presentation, Leacock said, “As accountants we are not only concerned with numbers; we care about people too. Some of us have children of our own so knowing that we are helping to put a smile on the faces of these children and bring some level of comfort in their suffering is invaluable to us.” The Foundation’s Public Relations Officer Shakida Belgrave thanked ECI and BL&P for their donation. “It will definitely go towards making the lives of some of our children so much more fulfilling and make their wishes and dreams come alive. It will go a long way.” (PR) You Might Be Interested In Pleasure and business in Canada Art, music and pork for Chinese New Year New sponsor, new local products Barbados Today Stay informed and engaged with our digital news platform.
