A company statement says investigations suggest the gas leak was caused by a rupture in one of the pipes serving the PHD’s refrigeration unit. “Once the leak was discovered, all employees were immediately evacuated, and there were no injuries reported,” Public Relations and Communications Officer Keisha Chapman said in a statement. “Preliminary reports also indicate that the impact on the residents of the surrounding communities was minimal.” Chapman said that as a precautionary measure, the refrigeration unit will remain inactive until investigations are concluded, and the necessary repairs are completed.
