West Indies captain Jason Holder signs as Dasani brand ambassador while Maritza Ballack, marketing manager of BBC looks on.

Dasani recently announced a partnership with Jason Holder, captain of the West Indies cricket team at a press conference just before his departure to the United Kingdom for his county contract with Northamptonshire.

Maritza Ballack, marketing manager, Koscab Holdings Group, in making the announcement said: “We are very fortunate to have someone like Jason as Dasani’s brand ambassador. Jason is an inspiration to so many young sportsmen and women not only in Barbados but in the Caribbean.  He has a very active and fit lifestyle and aims to have the best hydration which is what Dasani is all about”.

“I am excited to be appointed brand ambassador for Dasani,” a beaming Holder declared. “it is very important to stay hydrated, especially when I am training or playing. This is something I want to encourage everyone to do whether involved in sport or not”

“I spend long hours sweating and Dasani helps me to replenish what I’ve lost. I am pleased to be a part of this wonderful brand and no doubt Dasani will assist me in becoming the best I can be on the cricket field”

In the last Test series against England, Jason scored a record-breaking 202 not out to become the second batsman to score a Test double hundred in the second innings of a test batting at number seven or lower, and the first West Indian player to score a double century batting at number 8 or lower.

So dominant was his performance, West Indies won the Test match and went on to win the Series 2 -1. What made the victory so special for BBC and in particular marketing manager, Maritza Ballack was the secret she was holding on to which was in fact that “her skipper” as she fondly referred to Holder, was actually signed on the Monday prior to the England Series, because of the fact that he has always been a much admired athlete and sporting personality and an even more respectable gentleman.
