Another conviction and an extra three months were added to Junior Anderson Grafton Yarde’s criminal record today.
The 51-year-old, of no fixed place of abode, returned to the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ today where he pleaded guilty to stealing $4 in cash belonging to Paul Woodall on January 7. The charge was previously scheduled to be heard in the District ‘C’ jurisdiction but was amended for the District ‘A’ jurisdiction.
Sergeant Vernon Waithe said Woodall secured his vehicle but on his return discovered that the center console had been removed and the money missing.
The matter was reported to police, Yarde was detained on March 9 and admitted his guilt.
“I ain’t got nothing to say,” Yarde told Magistrate Douglas Frederick today before the three-month prison sentence was imposed.
Last Tuesday Yarde was also sentenced to three months in prison for threatening to shoot a police officer on the precincts of the Supreme Court Complex on January 29.
He told constable Lasonta Scantlebury on two occasions, “You can’t arrest me. I would shoot you,” when she requested that he leave the area after he was seen looking into a parked car.
