The Barbados Reggae Festival has been postponed “to a date later in 2020”, its organiser FAS Promotions has announced via social media.
The four-event festival was scheduled to run from April 24 to 28. Just yesterday, Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley advised promoters of mass events planned over the next 12 weeks to postpone them.
The FAS statement reads: “Following the Prime Minister’s request to postpone all social gatherings with 100 people or more, for three months, and the announcement today of two confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the island, FAS Promotions has postponed next month’s Barbados Reggae Festival until future dates later this year. We will announce the new dates as soon as information is available as to when Barbados can resume normal activity.”
But inquiries on FAS’s FB page about refunds have gone unanswered. One person asked specifically about an online refund. Most recent events postponed or cancelled due to COVID-19 have outlined the procedure for refunds.
But the FAS statement makes no mention of a refund.
“Ticket holders should retain their tickets as they will remain valid for the new event dates. Visit the event website at www.thebarbadosreggaefestival.com or follow social media pages for updates as the FAS Promotions team continue to monitor the progress of this situation,” the FAS statement said.
