Grenville Phillips II has been unanimously re-elected as president, to lead Solutions Barbados for another one-year term.
His re-election took placed on Thursday, April 9 during the political party’s Annual General Meeting. It was held virtually to comply with the current COVID-19 restrictions.
In accordance with Solutions Barbados’ Constitution, two independent committees must be elected at each annual meeting. An Executive Committee is elected to manage the organisation. An independent 3-member Disciplinary Committee, separate from the Executive, is elected to resolve any disputes.
“Between general elections, Solutions Barbados is committed to providing the Government of Barbados with their best professional advice. Since Solutions Barbados was formed in 2017, quality advice was consistently given to both administrations.
“Whether that advice was: accepted, rejected, ignored, or misinterpreted as dissent, it was, and will continue to be consistently given – for the benefit of the public,” a release from Solutions Barbados stated.
“At the next general election, Solutions Barbados is committed to offering competent candidates to the public, to meaningfully improve the lives of every Barbadian.
“Barbadians must unnecessarily pay excessive taxes, to pay the excess amount of no-bid contracts. They must also be unnecessarily inconvenienced with the poor management of public services.
“Barbadians’ lives can be improved with better managed public services, and the abolition of corrupting no-bid contracts,” the statement added. (PR)
