Hazel St Louis told Barbados TODAY that around 6 a.m. she was jolted from sleep. She said: “I hear this noise I thought it was thunder. But I didn’t really pay it any mind. I look through the window and I didn’t see anything. But then I heard my sister-in-law and my mother keeping noise in the house so then I come out and I see the whole tree fall down on the house.” The house was extensively damaged. “All of the side of the house mash up now, we now have to assess the damage,” said St Louis who has lived there for the last 30 years. A team from the Ministry of Transport and Works removed the fallen tree, while crews from the Barbados Light and Power and telecommunications companies restored interrupted service to the area.
