Police say that around 8:45 this morning, Grannum – who was reportedly involved in an altercation with a number of men – was chased by two masked men who fired a number of shots during the chase. Grannum fell to the roadway at 5th Avenue, New Orleans. He died at the scene. Police say the scene has been cordoned off and they are now at a sensitive stage of their investigation. They are appealing to anyone who may have any information or knowledge of the circumstances of this incident to contact Police Emergency 211, CID at 430-7189 or Central Police Station 430-7676.
