This new addition to one of the leading supermarket’s offerings is made possible through a partnership between the supermarket chain and Barbadian regional distribution service provider, WiFetch. “Connecting customers digitally to their local, preferred stores is what we do at WiFetch – and as Trinidad and Tobago works to continuously flatten the curve and curb the spread of COVID-19, it is our hope that our service provision contributes to the national effort,” said Sophie Bannister, WiFetch Chief Operations Officer and Co-Founder. Deliveries through WiFetch for Tru Valu Supermarket begin on June 15, 2020. To utilise the service, customers select their Tru Valu Supermarket purchases via www.Wifetch.com and also enter their location details and payment preferences online. They are then contacted by a personal shopper who completes the order for them and delivers it to their home. The service is a third-party one, meaning that all processes, payments, and customer service matters will be handled by WiFetch. “While observing all health and safety protocols and [using] e-commerce and an efficient operational system, a WiFetch personal shopper will secure items and ensure accurate deliveries within a customer’s designated time frame – same day, or for convenient scheduling, up to two weeks in advance. All WiFetch orders default to ‘Leave at My Door Delivery’ to ensure customers receive their deliveries safely, while maintaining social distancing guidelines,” Bannister explained. The partnership promises same day deliveries for grocery orders submitted before 3 p.m. “At Tru Valu, we’ve been doing our part throughout this pandemic to support physical distancing – while at the same time ensuring that our customers have access to their preferred groceries, meals and the goods that we are known to offer. We have enforced all protocols and our Tru Essentials pre-package bundles have been beneficial to families across the country. “Our partnership with WiFetch is an additional option of convenience that also promotes health and safety. It is a win-win collaboration and with the greatest of confidence, we invite our loyal customers to give WiFetch a try. WiFetch has been at work in other parts of the Caribbean,” said Tru Valu Supermarket’s Chief Executive Officer, Sunil N Maharajh.
