The virtual commemoration will include speeches by Prime Minister Mia Mottley; Barbados’ Ambassador to CARICOM, David Comissiong; Cuba’s Ambassador to Barbados, Sergio Jorge Pastrana; Minister with responsibility for Culture, John King, and leaders of the Barbados Workers Union and National Union of Public Workers. The Clement Payne Movement wishes to apologise for the change in programme, and looks forward to persons viewing from the comfort of their homes, as Barbados’ involvement in the historic Caribbean labour rebellions of the 1930s is remembered and honoured.
