I buy dope for you and was looking for you ever since. I gone chop you today.” Prosecutor Robert Jones said Waldron, of Lot No 3 Hannahs Valley, Christ Church removed a cutlass from his bag when he made the utterances. However, the cutlass dropped and was picked up by a bystander. That did not stop the self-employed man from picking up a “rock” and throwing it at Redman causing those in the vicinity to scream and scatter. Police were called in and Waldron was arrested and charged. Today, before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant, the accused readily admitted to the charges of causing a disturbance at Jubilee Gardens on August 29 and having an offensive weapon namely a cutlass in a public place without reasonable excuse. He also told the court what he had done even as he pleaded for leniency. Waldron was also sentenced to one month in prison for causing the disturbance which will run concurrently. Barbados Today Stay informed and engaged with our digital news platform.
