A man, who was recently released from prison, found himself back at the institution on Monday.

This time, 61-year-old Arleigh Patrick Todd will spend one year in prison for entering Sol Service Station as a trespasser and stealing 10 bottles of oil worth $100 and belonging to Kay Maycock Investments.

The offence occurred between October 19 and 20, 2020.

The prosecution in the District “A” Traffic Court, objected to bail based on Todd’s antecedents and his recent release from jail.

However, Todd mitigated on his own behalf saying there was no evidence of aggression relayed in the facts, no one had been injured, the property had been returned and that he had cooperated with police.

Furthermore, the Upper Collymore Rock, St Michael resident asked the court for leniency as he was a diabetic and hypertensive.

Magistrate Alison Burke, however, enforced the sentence.

Prosecutor Sergeant Edwin Pinder appeared for the Crown in this matter.
