Holding placards sending strong messages in one hand, and umbrellas in the next, more than 200 Christians from different churches, participated in the third of five marches, organized by the Family-Faith-Freedom Barbados religious group. With the police officers present, while marching behind a music truck, the marchers declared that they do not want Government to make the intended move, as was announced by Governor General Dame Sandra Mason in last month’s Throne Speech. Following the march, they converged in Independence Square for a rally, which included speeches and prayers. While delivering remarks, Executive Director of Family-Faith-Freedom Barbados, Dr Veronica Evelyn, said Christians are standing up for what is right and are convinced that by taking this step, Government is committing Barbados to a non-negotiable global agenda that entails much more than initially bargained for.
