The Red Foundation is gearing up to give back to Barbadians this November through its virtual fundraiser, “Walk the Talk –
Walk as One
.”

For four consecutive Sundays, starting November 8, 2020, Cultural Ambassador and Patron of the foundation, Stedson “Red Plastic Bag” Wiltshire will embark on a one-man journey across the island.

In observance of COVID-19 protocols, Wiltshire will Walk the Talk alone, but challenge celebrities, politicians and other public figures to go part of the distance with him.

Donations will be received at collection points after each walk, or monetary donations will be accepted via an account at Republic Bank.

Chairman of the Red Foundation Board, Alvin Jemmott explained, “The foundation believes that this Christmas will be a difficult one for many families.

“We hope to encourage Barbadians to support the Red Foundation in its effort to assist some of these families. We also want to be responsible in our efforts and hence a virtual walk as a fundraiser.

“It takes a village to raise a child. This is the motto of the foundation.

During this most difficult period, we want to help some of the families who have been affected by this pandemic.

“Persons can purchase and donate food items at various supermarkets or make cash donations by contacting anyone from the foundation,” Jemmott added.

Wiltshire and members of the Foundation continue to train rigorously for the walk, from exercising in Three Houses Park to walking from University Hill to Warrens.

For the first walk on November 8th from Ragged Point to the Grantley Adams International Airport, Red Plastic Bag has challenged fellow artistes Anderson “Blood” Armstrong and Adrian “AC” Clarke as well as  Gerard Borely, CEO of key sponsor Caribbean LED Lighting Inc., to walk with him.

Member of Parliament for St. Philip North, Dr Sonia Browne will officially declare the event open when they kick off at 6 a.m. at Ragged Point, St. Philip.

Barbadians can join in on the virtual walk through the Facebook and Instagram pages of the Red Foundation at @redfoundationbarbados. (PR)
