Minister in the Ministry of Water Resources, Charles Griffith, has assured residents of  Highland, St Philip whose homes were damaged by a ruptured main, that their homes will be cleaned.
On Saturday it was discovered that a Barbados Water Authority main in the area was damaged and in turn had caused two homes to be flooded and compromised the road in the area, which led to a vehicle being trapped in the hole.
No one was hurt in the incidents.
Minister Griffith led a high level team from the Authority including Chairman of the Board Leodean Worrell, BWA General Manager Keithroy Halliday and Director of Engineering Charles Leslie in a visit to the area where they oversaw the removal of the vehicle and ascertained the level of damage to the two homes.
Upon inspecting the area, Minister Griffith assured residents “that in addition to the work being conducted on the main, the Barbados Water Authority would also ensure that the homes are industrially cleaned.”
The vehicle has since been removed.
Minister Griffith also apologized to the residents for the inconvenience caused.
