Several videos making the rounds on social media claimed the guests were anxious to break out of the property after discovering that several others were quarantined at the hotel. For the past several days, prison officers have been in quarantine there while they await the results of their COVID-19 tests. There has been a sustained police presence at the Hilton since last weekend. When contacted, Attorney General Dale Marshall told Barbados TODAY he had not received any reports of fleeing hotel guests. Sources later told Barbados TODAY that the social media reports of a guest revolt were fake and law enforcers, including personnel from the COVID-19 Monitoring Unit were called in to deal with the issue.
