Each and every Barbadian MUST ensure that they do not contribute to the spreading of the COVID-19 virus by following the protocols as set out by WHO and PAHO – wearing masks, sanitizing hands and maintaining good physical distance from others.

Human beings are the primary carriers/transmitters of the virus and it did arrive in Barbados at some time.

In an effort to STOP the virus from making further visits to country Barbados, it is advisable to temporarily ban the entry of airplanes and cruise ships.

The authorities must face reality, be pragmatic, take the common-sense position, accept the unpalatable and indigestible truth and stop the virus that is now on a second and third wave particularly during this winter tourist season to which we so eagerly look forward.

According to the saying, “eat humble pie”, then do the right thing.

American author and motivational speaker Zig Ziglar offered some very sound and useful advice:

“In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing. With integrity, you have nothing to fear, since you have nothing to hide. With integrity, you will do the right thing, so you will have no guilt”.

The lives of hundreds of Barbadians may be saved by a simple act of doing the right thing.

We can always recoup lost earnings, but we cannot resurrect the “dead” – a most difficult act to perform.
