In an effort to reduce the incidence of mosquito-borne illnesses, the Vector Control Unit of the Ministry of Health and Wellness will carry out its fogging exercise in Christ Church and St. Michael, this week.

On Monday, February 8, the fogging team will visit a number of districts in Christ Church, including Balmoral Gap, Marine Gardens, Queens Way, Halls Gap, Hood Road, Exeter Road, York Road, Old Navy Road, Nelson Road, Hastings, Rhystone Gardens, Brownes Gap, Rockley Village, and environs.

The team will return to Christ Church on Tuesday, February 9, and fog Dayrells Road, Rockley Terrace, Rose Garden, Rockley, Blue Waters Garden, Peronne Gap, Golf Club Road, and surrounding areas.

Fogging in Christ Church will end on Wednesday, February 10, when the team targets Rockley New Road with avenues, Golf Club Road, Bynoe Road, Rendezvous Hill, Huskinson Road, and neighbouring districts.

On Thursday, February 11, the focus will be on the following St. Michael districts: Perry Gap, Hindsbury Road, Dr. Kerr Land, Greenidge Road, School Road, Springer Gap, Hamlet Gap, Taylor Gap, Dash Gap, Prescod Bottom, and environs.

Fogging will conclude for the week on Friday, February 12, as the unit concentrates its efforts on the St. Michael districts of Halls Road, Marl Hole, Train Line Road, Carrington Village, Alkins Road, Quakers Road, Chase Road, and surrounding areas.

Fogging takes place from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. daily. Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors to allow the spray to enter.

Members of the public are asked to note that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events beyond the unit’s control. In such circumstances, the unit will return to communities affected in the soonest possible time.
