BICO’s Sales and Business Development Manager, Dwayne Holmes, led the initiative which began February 25 with the Maurice Byer Polyclinic and ended on March 8 with the Barbados Vagrant and Homeless Society. Holmes explained: “The project was supported by several members of the BICO team, including sales associate Llewelyn Riley who assisted with the deliveries.” He added: “The BICO team has been moved by the service and sacrifices of our frontline workers throughout this pandemic. We thought it was important to spread some cheer with the ultimate feel-good product – BICO ice cream. It’s our way of saying thanks to the brave men and women who have been taking care of us throughout this crisis and hopefully inject some cheer into their day.” A total of 600 units of BICO products were donated, including cases of 12 and 24 snack cups of BICO Skinny Delight, specially formulated for the health conscious, and Tropical Delight ice cream. Workers also received one litre value packs that were among the first batch of ice cream made in the company’s new state of the art facility on Harbour Road. We don’t know what’s happening in the future so it’s like a chance to build that strength again for anything that might come our way.
