Road works activities for April 6 – 9

St James – Along Highway One, the 5 contractors are working diligently to complete the project along the West coast.  Repairs to a 24 feet storm water drain is in progress at Risk Road, after which the road will be paved. At Tulip Drive, St James, paving work will continue this week.

St Andrew – The gabion stabilization project in Trio Path, has been completed. The placement of a footpath from the A. Dacosta Edwards Primary School to the Belleplaine junction continues.

St Joseph – Work on Dark Hole continues this week. The road remains closed in order to facilitate road works and the construction of gabions. Phase 2 of the Fruitful Hill road rehabilitation project is also continuing. Gabion stabilization projects in Bissex, Coconut Grove and Ridge Road are completed and the roads are being reinstated.

St Peter – The gabion stabilization project continues at Missom Bottom, Indian Ground.

St Lucy – Work at Pie Corner Bridge has recommenced where the crew is constructing form work for the placement of the bridge deck. The construction of a retaining wall at Alexandria is completed. Peterses is to be paved.

St Michael – Work on Long Gap has been completed. The work on Murphy’s Pasture continues, where a concrete drain from Mason Hall Street to Kensington Road is being constructed. The drain is being widened in an effort to alleviate flooding in the area. Work to mitigate flooding on Greenidge Road also continues. A well is being repaired at Chapel Gap.

St John – Road works are continuing at Pothouse, a section of road was paved. Paving was completed in Gall Hill.

St George – A turning bay is being constructed at Bailey Alley. A broken culvert is being reinstated at Buckley.

St Thomas – In Downes Gap, repairs to slipper and kerb are being carried out. Slipper and kerb have been completed at Padmore Village.

Christ Church – Slipper and kerb is being built at Kendal Hill on the Eastern side. Road rehabilitation is ongoing at Fairy Valley.

St Phillip – Road works continue at Train Road. A culvert is being reconstructed at Wellhouse.

Pothole patching, de-bushing and drain cleaning are being carried out in districts as necessary.

MTWW urges pedestrians and motorists to exercise caution when traversing the work sites, to obey the traffic wardens and pay attention to the signs posted.
