Evacuation order issued for residents near La Soufriere volcano

SOURCE: CMC – An evacuation order has been issued for residents near the La Soufriere volcano.

Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves made the announcement a short while ago, a few hours after Professor Richard Robertson, the lead scientist monitoring the volcano, warned that there could be an explosive eruption anytime now.

He said Professor Robertson had informed him that matters had deteriorated further at La Soufriere.
