Some workers of the National Assistance Board (NAB) are seeking urgent answers after not receiving their full pay for the month of April.

This morning, several workers were on the outside of the NAB headquarters discussing the matter with Industrial Relations Officer of the National Union of Public Workers Christian Rock.

Rock told reporters: “What you see here this morning is not a formal protest. The workers did report this morning and they called in, as usual. The problem is that they are still awaiting their funds to be deposited at the credit union, some at the bank indicated that they got theirs. So right now, we are just waiting to meet with management to find out what is the way forward in terms of the salaries.

“From what I understand, when they [NAB] changed from the weekly pay schedule to the bi-weekly pay schedule they started to encounter a lot of the problems. So, we are just waiting to meet with Management, the HR director has already said she is amenable to meeting.”

Rock added that other concerns related to the provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and communications between management and staff would also be examined.
