When he appeared before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes in the District โAโ Magistratesโ Court, Miguel Rico Daniel, 28, pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and cocaine, and trafficking and intending to supply cocaine. According to police prosecutor Sergeant Victoria Taitt, officers were on mobile patrol around 9:45 a.m. along Silver Sands, Christ Church, when they observed Daniel standing in front of Ezi Shop Convenience fidgeting in his pockets. This aroused the suspicion of police and they approached Daniel who consented to a body search. Police found two clear plastic bags in his front left pants pocket, the court heard. The first bag contained eight greaseproof wrappers and two smaller freezer bags. They all contained a small quantity of vegetable matter. The second bag contained a plastic bag with three solid crystalline pieces and 54 small solid crystalline pieces of cocaine. Magistrate Weekes released Daniel on $3,000 bail and he is scheduled to return to court on July 2 when the pre-sentencing report is expected to be ready.
