Maximum sustained winds are nearโฆ74 MPHโฆ120 KM/H with higher gusts. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 140 miles (220 km) mainly to the north of the center. Over the last few hours, winds of up to 90mph (144km/h) with higher gusts were recorded across the island. Elsa is currently moving towards the west-northwest (290 degrees) at 28 MPH (44 KM/H). This motion is expected to continue during the next few days. Hurricane Elsa is currently passing just south of Barbados.
