Police investigate burglary and assault of British tourists

Officials from the Royal Barbados Police Force (RBPF) are investigating reports of an alleged burglary and sexual assault involving a group of British tourists at a West Coast property in the area of Lower Carlton, St James.

Barbados TODAY understands that on Sunday, July 4th at around 8 p.m., a beachfront property was burglarised and three persons – a male, female and child were held at gunpoint.
Sources have further revealed that during the ordeal, at least one of the tourists was sexually assaulted.
When contacted on Friday, Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) acting Inspector Rodney Inniss confirmed that the Criminal Investigations Department of the force was investigating the matter.  (kareemsmith@barbadostoday.bb)
