The self-taught creative said that she decided to become an entrepreneur because she wanted the freedom to pursue her passion. “I always had the gift of putting together concepts creatively and a basket fit just right with that gift. When I create a basket, I always put myself in a position of the receiver and imagine I am unwrapping it and how does it make me feel. I think the use of a gift basket is one of the most excellent methods available for the presentation of a gift,” she said. The former Ellerslie Secondary School student who has been operating her company for the past ten years from her Rendezvous, Christ Church home said that she realised at a young age that she had a knack for designing. “I always had a wild imagination, very huge, and from young, I created scrapbooks from magazines with every creative visual design that I saw, and it grew from there,” she said. Williams said that one of the highlights of her career was deciding to follow her dreams with tenacity. I have learned from entrepreneurship to be determined, to be your own self-motivator, and how to be disciplined. It has also taught me that failure is ok and to embrace it and try again,” she said. The small business owner is also the Social Media Manager for local charity Advocates Against Domestic Abuse, a job which she said she embarked on because she genuinely loves to help persons. “I am always passionate when it comes to helping people and I hope to do this through social media marketing in helping women and men become more aware of domestic violence in Barbados and the world,” she said.
