The leading insurance and financial institution recently renewed its commitment to providing support to frontline workers at the vaccination center located at the Wildey Gymnasium, an arrangement which first began when the center first began delivering the first round of the vaccines to Barbadians. In February, Sagicor donated a refrigerator to that unit, in addition to making arrangements with a local supplier to purchase a consistently replenished stock of beverages over a period of months. Assistant Vice President – Marketing, Carolyn Shepherd, said the initial donation and the recent renewal falls in line with Sagicor’s commitment to seeing Barbados win the battle against COVID-19. “From the onset of the pandemic in March of 2020, a large portion of our corporate social responsibility activity has been focused around beating this virus. “Specifically, as it relates to the Government of Barbados, we donated three thermal imaging scanners for use at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the Grantley Adams International Airport, to assist with the identification of potential carriers of the virus.
